Ethiopia
This project focused on the revival of craft pottery production for the existing local market and combining it with small-scale intervention e.g. imported firing methods, improving preparation methods.
The project is in association with Mums for Mums, a charity that helps destitute women and single mothers learn skills through training programs.
We set up a fully functioning pottery in 2012 which produces pottery for local restaurants, local shops and the growing tourist market. I worked closely with craft potters to develop a range of utilitarian ware for the local market.
This project is ongoing.
